Yes. And no.
Yes, the typical UNCP Student is smart, hardworking, looking to do something important, intrigued and curious about learning, and most likely, not just in school to get a good paycheck down the road.
But also, no, there's no such thing as a 'typical' UNCP Student.
He or she could be of almost any ethnicity. Or nationality. Or age. Or faith or creed. Or economic background. They could be enthusiastic arts fans. Or math jocks. Or pre-professional something.
He or she might come from a large city. Or from a small town. They might have a long line of ancestors who went to college. Or they might be the first in their family to go to college.
There's real diversity here, and that's the point. And that matters, because the more exposure you get to the wider, interlinked world at large before you have to fend for yourself with a career or life as a grown-up, the better off you're going to be. That's part of what makes UNCP such a good choice for so many.
